EHOUSER - CG PORTFOLIO

“My passion & desire is to create and produce digital art, and to tell stories through the artwork I produce. Designing in 3D offers infinite opportunities not only to portray human diversity, form, and expression, but to create scenes and capture situations that reflect life around us, or sends our imagination spiraling toward infinity. Digital art & illustration is breathing life into characters, ideas, and places that didn’t exist before.”

"I BELIEVE AN IMAGE NEEDS TO TELL A STORY"

I think its important that an image communicates something. Art has the ability to touch the heart, inspire a sense of wonder, and invoke mystery & drama. I like it when I see more than just a character in an image, but rather a great scene, environment, & idea that further expands that character. When creating new artwork I try to evoke & capture a feeling, emotion, or some form of drama/story that tugs at the viewer’s imagination and allows for a moment to pause and reflect.

TOOLS - LEARNING / PRACTICING:

My present workflows are CINEMA 4D, Poser, Vue, Photoshop CS4, & Painter II. I'm also currently training & learning other various workflows which include: 3Dsmax, XSI, and Zbrush. My current workflow has allowed me to learn and practice setting up & designing an environment, setting up lighting, rendering, texturing, editing 3D mesh, camera position, body language & posture, and overall scene composition.

OTHER THOUGHTS:
Creating landscapes helps to open the door to visualizing new worlds and environments that are either part of a story, a scene, or a vision for a new idea or piece of art. I've always been fascinated by landscapes, both thru still photography and from traveling. Landscapes cause us to pause and ponder, and to escape into another world, or another place, even if for a brief moment.
